WHOOPS I DID IT AGAIN

I am sorry for a recent blog and it’s poor taste.

It has been a month since I have posted and many of you have reminded me, daily–I fall behind.  It’s challenging to write interesting shit in a column and a blog and keep pace.  I need to be better.  I’m sorry about that too.  I was under pressure and tried to bang something out that would be worthy of a month’s delay.

I often sit down and write what is on my mind at the moment, fast and hard–excited, angry, befuddled, amazed.  BUT,  because I often just “dump” (and forget a blog is not a diary!), and because I have been out of line before, I am under strict orders to make sure my shit is edited before being posted–before I offend, piss people off, hurt someone’s feelings, ruin a surprise, divulge sensitive information…shit like that. I have become better at following directives–and trusting those I need to keep me “safe.”

So, anyway…I was feeling annoyed the other day when I heard some (exciting) news about a friend who continues to owe me money, and I wrote a meant-to-be-funny blog, then failed to make sure it was edited before being posted.  It was my mistake, and it was not post-worthy. It was mean, not fun or funny.  It’s the way I felt.  (Though I actually never hear from him, about the money or otherwise, dude was unhappy about the blog and reached out to me–to say that…and a few other things.)

He was right, I suppose I should have called him again, or something.  He has had challenges in the past couple of years, and I wish him good fortune.  Money is important, but not worth that.

My previous blog is now filed under “private”–where it should stay, and I am sorry for anyone who read it and was offended, or felt it was immature or inappropriate.  You are right.

The next blog will be more about my trip to Thailand and Cambodia, and perhaps the peaceful, easy way of its people, or the incredible cuisine, or, the apparent Buddhist influence on national zen and kindness–a trait I had hoped would rub off on me better.

It’s a journey….
