I just did a tacky thing. Or did I.
Thankfully, the fine fellow on the other line assured me that it was ok, “it’s how business is done”.
If you didn’t already know, We are adding some outdoor dining to both of our restaurants.
Now, personally, I think if you are not at the beach, or the conditions are pretty freakin’ perfect, outdoor dining sucks. I don’t get it…BUT…these times are challenging from a cash flow perspective, and many of our customers have asked many, many times so we have acquiesced. If they want to sweat, deal with bugs, the smells of the City, sirens, flies, motorcycles, waiting longer for service, petroleum based furniture, pan handlers and keeping their cocktail napkin weighted down or suffer the eco-moral dilemma of watching it blow across the ground or chasing after it…I say…
JOIN US AL FRESCO! NEW OUTDOOR MENU! FRESH AIR AND REFRESHING BEVERAGES WHILE ENJOYING THE VIBRANT SIGHTS AND SOUNDS OF THE GREAT OUTDOORS. SEATING IS LIMITED SO PLEASE RESERVE EARLY!
So, back to tacky. We are shopping for furniture. Right now we own Wal-mart Specialty Seating from the Ghetto-Fab line, at the right price point. It’s plenty good enough poolside, or at a BBQ, but the first time a “Big guy” starts cutting into his steak and the legs buckle, and he goes down…and Attny Louis Swedishcarmaker is at the next table with business cards… You know what I’m saying…
Meanwhile, new/hot/former restaurant Stur closed it’s doors after only 21 days of restaurant glory and another local restaurant, with outdoor seating, is rumored to be making a (sad) exit from downtown soooo…I made a call.
Is that so wrong?
WANTED; 10 TABLES AND SEATING FOR 30. WEATHERPROOF. COMFORTABLE ENOUGH. PRICED RIGHT.
