ON THE ROAD AGAIN…

I have been a little lax lately about posting, but will be back on track any day.

Right now, I am in Kentucky with six fellow Food and Beverage consultants, with Bourbon being the main topic of this weeks research!

Warning…Cliche approaching… “It’s a tough job but….”

 So, 3 parties, took separate flights and assembled last night at The Galt House Hotel, in downtown Louisville.  And, with everybody ready to begin work, we turned to Brother-in-law-consultant-techie-dork John and his laptop and watched the “Three Sheets” episode aptly entitled “Kentucky”.  And 20 minutes later, the group headed to the Bourbon Bistro for many, many (many) of the 125 Bourbons on the menu.  Flights of American Whiskey, Old Fashion, Single Barrel, Small Batch, Wheat Based and others… Too many stories collected in one sit down (and the food was AMAZING) to write about now (we begin on The Bourbon Trail in 30 minutes) but I will return to share some great stuff upon return  In the meantime, here are a few relative (ridiculous) quotes;

“Yessir, we are going to Louisiana!”  (Dude, Kentucky)

“Look at that!  The mighty Mississippi (That’s the Ohio River) (Food and Beverage folks.  Geography?  Notsomuch)

“In Kentucky, there is Churchill Downs and Bourbon.  What you do between those two things is up to you”

“In Kentucky, the cops pull you over if you have NOT been drinking”

“If you insist on Maker’s Mark, that’s what I’ll pour you”

(The head bartender who brought 3 little known bottles to the table and joined us)

“I wish the wives were here!”

(you will NEVER,EVER know which one of us said that, but it was the quote of the night that drew the longest, loudest laugh)

OK…to the (gonna be a bit bumpy) 1st leg of the Bourbon Trail.

Y’all sit tight, hear.
