Going on two years ago, at the annual Boys and Girls Club Holiday Auction, friends of ours bid feverishly against each other for a “Tuscan Villa Getaway” package. The details of how it proceeded from there are fuzzy–maybe from the wine, maybe from the chaitable glow, maybe because I don’t remember shit anymore–but, my friends ended up with TWO villas, that house two couples each and, well, at 7:40PM I will be on one of those planes headed in the general direction of Italy. (A question for the accountant…if I combine a charitable contribution with steady wine and gelato research, then maybe a stop over in Barcelona to see what’s new in the world of Tapas…can I claim that bad-boy TWICE?!)
Anyway…There will be no posts here for a couple weeks. When I return…I will probably write about great friends (and too much wine), or maybe, (ex-great friends, and too much wine!), maybe also about wine, and olives (and wine), olive oil (and wine)…
Then…our new menus, fall beers at COBBLESTONES (Whoa! Wait… Germany..Oktoberfest…The Euro Rail…not far from Italy….hmmm. What’s more fun than “writing off” tankards of beer…other than, the actual tankards of beer! Note to self…”MUST call the accountant!”)
I’m out. Have to go dust off that one pair of Italian shoes, and practice the whole double-kiss thing.
